So you’re now here; you have gone and collected an impressive selection of your own crafted works and you are ready to go and wow the critics. You want to see what level your skills are, and you want to show off your stuff at the next craft show. But, how do you know which craft show you will go to, exactly?
The first thing you do is to check out the fliers. Before you go out and start hunting for bulletin boards, though, why not check out what you can find online first? Fliers these days are no longer made with dead trees, they are instead made of bytes in .pdf or .html formats. Look for these using your Internet search engines.
Look for a more comprehensive list online, to make your life easier. It won’t even be too hard to find a site that catalogs all the events around your area, or even for the entire country. It will then be only a matter of choosing the right one for you. How is this done?
First thing to think about is practicality. Even though gas prices have down, it’s still prudent to not waste it on long travel. That said, look for events that are close to your home. You don’t have to bring your crafts too far from home or wake up early when your event is right near where you live.
Aside from the distance, you’ll also have to consider the show’s quality. Try to search for past coverage of the show you’re looking at, chances are, it is already happening on an annual basis. If you can find someone who has had a booth there before, then so much the better. Inquire about how things are run. If they have bad reviews, then it’s probably best to avoid that show for now.
