    It is almost always ok to bring a gun from a Nazi state like CA to a free state like AZ.

    Cali is the most Nazi state in the union. Move.

  3. basically yes but…

    Many states are different in how they react to firerms in vehicles, loaded, concealed, in a carry bag, in the trunk, etc.

  4. Yes, it’s perfectly legal. I have taken my guns (including a handgun) from idaho to utah, california, and washington without any problems. You can even check them on a plane if you want, just make sure you declare it and follow the rules. Have fun!

    It is legal. There is no special stuff you have to do to own a handgun in AZ. No license, no registartion, no need to notify the authorities. AZ is much more lax than the peoples repubilk of kalifornistan.

  7. there are Federal laws that allow peacefull transportation of firearms between states.

    Mass, CA and Illinois are pretty fussy about how those laws are enforced. “Cased”, “unloaded” , “out of reach” are keywords in most of the state and local laws written to expand the Federal law.

    The vast majority of the answers here are correct. It is perfectly legal to transport a legally owned and possessed firearm between states.

    You should know that California has some restrictions you should be aware of that could effect returning to California. Basically, any item which you legally own in California, but is now restricted under California law (e.g. magazines with a capacity greater than ten rounds that you purchased before the state ban went into effect) can be legally taken out of the state for less than 30 days and returned. If however the items remain out of the state for more than 30 days, they cannot legally be brought back in, as the state views this as a new importation.

    Yes, but make sure you do not bring your standard size (hi-cap holding more than 10 rounds) magazines as California has put a ban on them.

    The Firearm Owners’ Protection Act of 1986 allows you to transport firearms across state lines as long as:
    –the firearms are unloaded;
    –the firearms are in the trunk, or in a locked container, or otherwise inaccessible;
    –the firearms are legal for you to possess in the state of origin;
    –the firearms are legal for you to possess in the state of destination.

    Arizona is a very gun friendly state. There is nothing that you can own in California that is illegal in Arizona.
