The series doesn’t stop with just worms though. There is a complete series of Glow Friends for children to choose from. Many adults decided to collect the entire set as well. While the Glow Worms didn’t reap the same success as the Cabbage Patch Dolls, they were right up there. Children of both sexes loved to play with them at night in the dark and even during the day.
The top selling Glow Worms are those that resemble real babies. They are offered with either pink or blue outfits with matching hats. Others were babies but also looked like animals. For example there are Glow Worm spiders, butterflies, and bumble bees. As the success of these Glow Worms continued there were new additions to the series as well.
Later models that hit the market in the mid 1990’s also could sing lullabies. This really increased the sales yet again as children loved being able to squeeze their toy and here music as well as the face lighting up. Some parents were afraid of Glow Worms when they first came out.
