My family usually does a gift exchange between the cousins but times are hard and the budget would be too low to be worth it. We have trying to figure something else out but we cant ;? any body have any ideas, or what do you and your family do for fun for christmas?
how about everyone buys 2-5 lottery tickets and passes them out to each other?
Just have a family game night, with maybe a cookie exchange, some caroling, watching movies, popping popcorn to string on the tree, etc.
Instead of exchanging gifts, exchange recipes. Everyone has a special dish that they are always getting compliments on and this is a great gift you can share with your family. rent some movies and video games. bring out the board games, apples to apples and skip-bo are my family favorites. like someone else suggested, bake cookies and meals together. christmas can be fun and joyful without gifts, if not more so. light some candles, string up some colorful lights, with some christmas music you can create a bonding environment.
Why not do a cousins’ dessert pot luck? Each of you can make and bring your favorite dessert to the gathering and share what everyone brought. To make it more fun, you could have everyone give a little speech about what they made and why. You could also go with a theme and say that everyone has to use at least 3 ingredients of one color, or that everything has to be something you can eat with your fingers.
Get creative and have some fun. Who cares if it’ll make everyone fell silly? You’re among family.
